Aura’s life is anything but easy. Her boyfriend, Logan, died, and his slides between ghost and shade have left her reeling. Aura knows he needs her now more than ever. She loves Logan, but she can’t deny her connection with the totally supportive, totally gorgeous Zachary. And she’s not sure that she wants to.
Logan and Zachary will fight to be the one by her side, but Aura needs them both to uncover the mystery of her past—the mystery of the Shift.
As Aura’s search uncovers new truths, she must decide whom to trust with her secrets…and her heart. -Goodreads
My Review:
After reading Shade, the first book in the Shade series, I just had to pick up Shift and read it as well. While I really enjoyed the firs t book, I found that Shift was only an Ok read for me.
I didn’t love the characters in this book, which I hate because I really liked them in the first book. Aura was so undecided on everything; she had no clue what she wanted. It seems like all she thinks about is sex. (Which I guess is normal for a hormone ridden teenager. Haha) Zachary, who I love, even managed to irritate me quite a few times. Logan just seemed sad throughout the whole book. A lot of the characters from the first book were back in Shade, but a lot were just depressing and, I guess, grieving in their own personal way.
I did love the plot. A lot of it was fast paced and it did keep me interested. There were a lot of drama and plot twists and turns. We also get some answers about what happened to Aura and Zachary’s parents; I am really looking forward to seeing where Mrs. Smith-Ready goes with that part of the story. The ending left me hanging, and of course I will have to pick up the third book to see what’s going to happen next.
Happy Reading!

People seem to love this series and everytime I see a review of Shade or Shift, I regret that I haven't started this series yet. Definitely need to get a copy of Shade soon.

I honestly don't think this is a series that I would enjoy... Blah! And I have to connect with the characters or it's an epic fail for me!
ReplyDeleteXoXo!!
I didn't even know this was going to be a trilogy! I'm curious as to what happens with Logan and learning more about the whole mystery with Aura and Zach. I have this fear that they'll be related or something :/

I agree about sex being all she seemed to think about, it bothered me so much reading the book! I did like it, but that really lessened it for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm still on the fence whether I should continue or not. We'll see :-)
